Love me enough to feel safe enough with me and in our relationship to not hold back. Love me enough to tell me exactly what you are thinking and feeling toward me in the moment. Love me enough to courageously share what you are most afraid of sharing. Love me enough to risk losing intimacy so that we can create more intimacy. Love me enough to even hate me.
That’s right. There is a big difference between a temporary feeling and a feeling state. I know you love me. And I love you too. That is the state of our emotional bond. We are attached and have a solid foundation. Thus, it is out of this underpinning of love, I have the opportunity to have all kinds of feelings toward you at any given moment. The whole range. And some of them might not be so pretty. But that is ok. They are just feelings. They will come and go. And as long as they are processed in a healthy relational manner, they will not threaten the loving state of our relationship. They will enhance it.
Love me enough to have more than loving feelings toward me.
A challenge. Give it a whirl. You got this.
